Distributors

Distributors have a significant responsibility as they represent the next stage of the supply chain following the manufacture of disposable vape products.

So, it is incumbent on suppliers to different markets to ensure they have done their due diligence on the source of the disposable products and that they are dealing with a bona fide manufacturer.

Therefore, distributors need to ensure they:

  • are buying products that are registered with and published as approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA);
  • check that products they have purchased incorporate a UK batch number;
  • have distribution contracts in place with the manufacturers they are supplying products on behalf of. This distribution contract should clearly set out which territories products can be sold in based on legislation around e-liquid capacity and nicotine concentrations;
  • are familiar with vaping regulations so they know what they are supplying is compliant with legislation – for UK regulations download the UK Vaping Industry Association’s guide, if in doubt, check it out. Although produced for the retail sector, it provides everything there is to know about staying on the right side of the law when it comes to trading in disposable vape products.
